Hamlett, Keith

Biography

Moving from Manchester to Criccieth, North Wales in 2005 afforded Keith the opportunity, once again, to work closely from landscape and seascape. His work has become, in many ways, reminiscent of the works which were exhibited in his first one-man exhibition in 1975 in the Academy Gallery, Liverpool.

Drawings, paintings and relief sculptures have been his most prolific works over the last twelve years.

Statement

‘The relief sculptures I create are polychromatic incorporating Welsh slate, cement and then coloured using egg tempera. The pigments for much of the egg tempera are earth pigments collected from the ancient copper mine of Parys mountain, Anglesey.’

‘For several years we have been developing a private sculpture garden. The garden now presents many works including several large sculptures by Ted Roocroft. The garden may be visited by appointment.’

‘I have also published a book, ‘Happy Day: A Memoir Of Ted Roocroft which is available to purchase by contacting me on the email address below.’
