Alastair Adams
Alastair, who grew up in Formby near Southport, took a degree in illustration at Leicester Polytechnic where he developed his strong interest in figurative and portrait painting. Since completing his degree he has successfully undertaken work in many artistic fields publishing, exhibiting and selling his work and working to commission both nationally and internationally. His dynamic but natural and unassuming portraits and figure paintings have won him acclaim through national exhibitions such as the BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Open Exhibition. Alastair was made a member of the Manchester Academy in 1998 and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters in 2002. Alastair is regularly involved in the co-ordination and delivery of MAFA workshops. His own area of specialisation is portraiture around which he undertakes day long workshops. Please contact for further information.
