I am an Art Teacher in full-time education at a state comprehensive school in Cheshire.1 have been a practising artist for many years ,my work is to be found in many private collections both in this country and abroad. I have exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London as well as the "Vive la France" exhibition at Olympia. I was elected a member of the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts in 1981 and have been a regular exhibitor for many years, my paintings have frequently sold. My creative drive and interest is to be found in landscape both in this country and abroad. Natural landscape, earth, rocks, stones, trees and vegetation are primary elements that interest me. The effects of light, heat, erosion, time and cultivation are factors that I like to bring out in my work Southern France is a favourite location of mine. The materials I use are mainly wax crayon, oil pastel, watercolour, acrylic paint, graphite and pen. Much of my recent work has involved mixed-media, using resist techniques exploiting surface texture and pattern. Watercolour paper and canvas are my preferred grounds. The size of my work varies between A4 and Al in scale.
