I work on a seemingly disparate set of paintings at any given time – the only criterion I have for image or theme selection is that it must interest me. High-Rise blocks, household utensils, and municipal public gardens have been the focus of my recent body of paintings and each set considered on a variety of scales. Working from nature is also a mainstay of my productivity – responding to changes in light and weather conditions and enjoying the spectacle of the modern urban landscape. Of course, when seen as a collection of works there’s nothing disparate about my choices of subject – instead, a representation of self is established reflecting my interests and moods as the purest of self portraits."
