Southworth, Christine

This closeness with nature and Christine’s keen observation of working class life have been the basis of all her life’s work.

Christine obtained a scholarship at 15 to attend The Bolton College of Art , majoring in Fine Art and Etching. From there she spent her working life teaching until she retired. Latterly working as Head of Art at Bolton School.
Christine is also a member of The Society of Women Artists and exhibits annually at the Mall Galleries London. She has won several major awards as well as exhibiting throughout England.

‘I still live and work in the North of England , I love the ruggedness of the moors and am inspired by the people around me. Here are my roots, here I am grounded.’
