Biography

David works in bronze, marble and steel using casting, carving and fabrication techniques. After gaining a First Class BA Honours Degree in Sculpture, he worked in academia for many years, firstly as a Lecturer in Sculpture at Wirral College of Art then as Head of Art at Trent College, Nottingham.

He has exhibit his work at the M1 Galleries, London, Adrian Hill Gallery, Norfolk and The Tarpey Gallery, Leicester. In 2018 he had a large solo exhibition at Beverley Museum and Art Gallery, East Yorkshire. In 2014 he became a member of MAFA and was then elected to The Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) in 2018. In 2020 he was the recipient of the RBA’s Nathan David Award for Sculpture.

‘I sculpt in a wide range of techniques and materials. My sculptures have a variety of starting points always seeing the creative possibilities in an eclectic mix of visual sources.
