Parys Mountain by Keith Hamlett
Parys Mountain by Keith Hamlett

Keith Hamlett B.A.(Hons), M.A.F.A.

Moving from Manchester to Criccieth, North Wales in 2005 afforded the opportunity, once again, to work closely from landscape and seascape.

My work has become, in many ways, reminiscent of the works which were exhibited in my first one-man exhibition in 1975 in the Academy Gallery Liverpool.

Drawings, paintings and relief sculptures have been my most prolific works over the last twelve years.

The relief sculptures are polychromatic incorporating Welsh slate, cement and then coloured using egg tempera. The pigments for much of the egg tempera are earth pigments collected from the ancient copper mine of Parys mountain, Anglesey.

For several years we have been developing a private sculpture garden. The garden now presents many works including several large sculptures by Ted Roocroft. The garden may be visited by appointment.

The book, ‘HAPPY DAYS’ A MEMOIR OF TED ROOCROFT by KEITH HAMLETT has been published and is available to purchase by contacting Keith.
