Artist and MAFA member Richard Fitton has recently set up his own bespoke framing business creating beautiful handmade frames for artwork.
Picture framing is becoming a lost skill. Over the past twenty years many framers have retired and this trade has not been past on to the next generation. It has become increasing difficult to find local bespoke framers. Custom picture framing is essential to art and artifacts. Without it works are often damaged irreparably. The right frame and mount can enhance a piece of artwork and bring it to life.
Richard has also recently had a work acquired by The Whitaker Museum and Gallery in Rossendale, currently showing MAFA’s Small Works exhibition. Anna painted in 2018 was originally shown at the gallery in his solo exhibition and will now be added to their permanant art collection.
