Did you know that MAFA have an ‘Artists General Benevolent Institution’ steward?

Janis Bowie, MAFA’s ABI steward, makes sure we send a collective donation annually.

Members may want to send their own contribution sometime or even if they are unfortunate enough to need it, they may make use of the charitable organisation themselves.

Julia Midgley regularly runs an open studio in aid of the AGBI.

Founded in 1814 by members of the Royal Academy of Arts including J.M.W. Turner, John Constable and John Soane, the AGBI exists to provide help for professional artists, and their dependents, in need due to accident, illness or older age.
