MAFA President 2022-2024
Award winning artist specialising in Portraiture, joined the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts in 2001.
Since becoming a member, Kath has been a passionate advocate for the Arts, including encouraging young emerging talent to apply to the Academy. She has undertaken a number of posts within the organisation, culminating in becoming Vice President in 2019 and being duly elected President of the Academy from 2022 until 2024
As a mature student she completed a BA( Hons) Fine Art at Manchester Metropolitan University in 1999, followed by a MA in Fine Art in 2001.
She has completed portrait commissions in the UK, Europe and the USA. Her portraits are a testament to the power of art to connect us, to remind us of our shared humanity, and to celebrate the individuality of each person she paints. Her work challenges us to look deeper, to see not just the surface but the soul of her subjects.
