Biography

Peter Davis has been MAFA’s Archivist since 2022 and delivers talks on our archives. He is also a northwest based prize-winning professional artist whose portraits and urban landscapes capture contemporary life. His work is held in both public and private collections, and he has exhibited widely including the John Moores Painting Prize 2020 at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, and the Herbert Smith Freehills Portrait Prize 2024 at the National Portrait Gallery in London. As well as being a MAFA member, Peter also belongs to the Contemporary British Portrait Painters (CBPP) and Castlefield Gallery Associates.
