Why join MAFA?
Joining MAFA means becoming part of a community of professional practising artists committed to making, exhibiting and promoting contemporary visual art.
As a member, you’ll have opportunities to exhibit your work, develop professional relationships with fellow artists and contribute to the Academy’s continuing programme of exhibitions and activities.
For more than 165 years, MAFA has supported artists across the North West and beyond. Today, we continue that tradition by creating opportunities to exhibit, engage audiences and celebrate excellence in contemporary fine art.
Who can apply?
Membership is awarded through a selection process that recognises the quality and originality of an artist’s practice.
We welcome applications from professional practising artists whose work demonstrates a distinctive and accomplished approach, regardless of style or medium.
Successful applicants are initially elected as Associate Members and become eligible for election to Academician after two years.
