Dawn Limbert was born in Yorkshire where she lived till her late 20’s. She now lives and works in Barnet, North London with her husband and son.
She is a soft pastel painter who continually revisits the parks and woods near to her North London home to harness the experience of being immersed in nature. She records her subjects using lively marks of exaggerated colour, capturing moments when the light presents a scene in such a way that all of its textures, colours and patterns are revealed.
Limbert’s larger works are made in her studio, working from sketches, videos and photographs to bring back to mind the sense of place and felt experience.
In 2022, Limbert was selected for the Pastel Society’s 123rd Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries and was long listed for the Jacksons Painting Prize. She is also taking part in the South Eastern Pastel Society “Make your Mark” 2022 International Online Exhibition and the Society of Graphic Artists Annual Exhibition, 2022 at Mall Galleries, London in May.
Limbert’s work has been shown in galleries throughout the South East of England and London. She also welcomes commissions.
