Statement
I am fascinated by how we process our experiences, however mundane, and how they shape our identity. Through my work I seek to open a dialogue, speaking to truths of the past and offering sanctuary to new narratives.
With a passion for theatre, the experience of an audience when viewing performance arts inspires my research.
With recurring themes of absence, loss and memory, my work often responds to personal archives and found objects. Confronting the echoes of memory through processes of creation, destruction, isolation, and reconstruction, I aim to reflect what we choose to remember, what fades away, and what is entirely imagined.
Printmaking processes offer a level of tension vital to my practice, with landscapes forming an integral part of my visual language – symbolic of worlds where memories are both recalled and reinterpreted, each serving as testament to the fluidity of memory and the stories we tell ourselves.
