Fenton, Jean

Jean began sculpting after many years of painting. She studied bronze casting and metalwork at Loughborough College of Art.

Jean worked with Manchester sculptor and MAFA member Keith Hamlett, gaining experience in mould making and casting while experimenting with different materials including clay, plaster, bronze, bronze-resin and ciment fondue.

Her work is based on the figurative developed into simplistic and near abstracted form concentrating on form and line plus many portrait commissions.

Jean has participated in mixed exhibitions in the North West & West Yorkshire. In 2012 she was invited to participate in the Sculpture Bienniale in Tournon-sur Rhône, France, and in 2013 returned as tutor on their sculpture course.
