The Atkinson, Stockport, The Landing, Summer 2019.

'Hunters Moonweb' by Malcolm Taylor

Members of the Academy were delighted to have the opportunity to show their work at The Atkinson Southport, a welcome return after their last exhibition, some 20 years ago, featuring the work of MAFA sculptors.

This exhibition was an exciting and diverse collection of the work of many of our 114 Members, some of whom are also elected members of other national art societies including the Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour.

Manchester Academy of Fine Arts represents some of the finest of the region’s artists in many disciplines and 2019 was the 160th anniversary of its founding, a fine achievement of which the Academy was extremely proud.

Paintings, etchings, sculpture, collotypes, and many other media made this an exhibition of visual delights, the preview was held on Saturday 6th July 2019 where guests were able to ‘Meet The Artists’ and informally discover more about their works and techniques in creating their art.
