Members of the Academy are delighted to have the opportunity to show their work at The Atkinson Southport, a welcome return after our last exhibition, some 20 years ago, featuring the work of our sculptor Members.
This exhibition is an exciting and diverse collection of the work of many of our 114 Members, some of whom are also elected members of other national art societies including the Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour and many others.
Manchester Academy of Fine Arts represents some of the finest of the region’s artists in many disciplines and this year is the 160th anniversary of its founding, a fine achievement of which the Academy is extremely proud.
In holding many exhibitions throughout the region, the Academy continues to play a major part in promoting Fine Art and we thank The Atkinson and the staff for this present exhibition venue.
Paintings, etchings, sculpture, collotypes, and many other media will make this an exhibition of visual delights and you are warmly welcome to join us for the Exhibition Preview on Saturday July 6th between 4pm and 6pm where you will be able to ‘Meet The Artists’ and informally discover more about their works and techniques in creating their art.
We look forward to meeting you there.
Gerry Halpin MBE
Past President Manchester Academy of Fine Arts
